The Opening Game Pass Titles of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the knell for the green team. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities have started writing about PlayStation unprecedentedly. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it becomes clear that the green gaming company still intends to attract subscribers with quality releases on its premier subscription.

The Available Now Titles

The two games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's deserving of attention.

Upcoming Headline Games

Starting January 13th, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up typical Ubisoft design with an intergalactic heist adventure. Another big get is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "an ideal blend of frights and fights."

Compelling Indie Titles

However, the more modest titles coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that is incredibly fun, becomes available next week — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year might get its hooks in you remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.

A Well-Rounded Collection

All in all, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that justify the service in the first place. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. It offers a healthy blend of older titles you may have skipped and relatively recent releases that failed to receive the spotlight they deserved the first time around — which makes them excellent choices to experience a revival on Game Pass.

Be prepared to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
