On Monday, the tribunal heard phone records and data obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a biological test during that period.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most widely reported investigations and continues to be open.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

A separate voicemail, presented in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm fat and unattractive like Madeleine had been, but I know what I feel."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's answerphone said: "What if there is a small chance that I am Madeleine? Then what? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a living here in Poland, I only wish to understand," she added.

The jury was advised that through electronic messages, SMS messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a genetic test, forwarded childhood photos to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

The investigator, a data specialist with the police force who collated the evidence, told the court there "seemed to lack any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also contacted close associates of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On 9 October 2024, Mr McCann responded to a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt left a message on Mrs McCann's answerphone saying "I won't give up and I will prove my point."

The court heard the co-defendant established a association via internet with Ms Wandelt preceding joining her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in the county in last December.

Communication data showed Mrs Spragg had communicated through messaging service to Mrs McCann to say the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the period preceding the visit to Rothley, Leicestershire, in that winter.

The court learned communications between the two individuals, in November 2024, planning trying to get Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her garbage or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We must assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the appearance to their house, Mrs Spragg sent a message which expressed: "We find ourselves sitting outside the McCanns' house with our lights out resembling detectives. I desired to do this with someone else I never thought I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The trial ongoing.
